“Playing on rivers as a child and working on them as an adult has instilled a love of water and its inhabitants that will stay with me forever… I think that’s called passion.” — Jeff

Jeff Fealko, PE | Principal Engineer

Jeff is a river engineer whose experience has been focused on water resource issues throughout the western United States and has been the engineer of record on numerous river enhancement projects. Jeff excels at managing and working with a collaborative team of key stakeholders to thoroughly understand project objectives and constraints. He knows how to take a project from initialization through completion providing the most efficient and effective natural solution to meet the project objectives.

Jeff has immersed himself in riverine processes including river restoration and enhancement designs, engineered large wood structure design, fish passage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, aquatic habitat modeling, bridge scour and river instability countermeasures, sediment transport analyses, flood hazard assessment, and construction observation. In addition, his experience in true hard civil design and construction inspection has facilitated the process between concept and final construction design to on-the-ground implementation. Jeff strives to achieve technical excellence integrated with an understanding of variability, complexity, and long-term processes within river systems, which results in successful real-world solutions. As a lifelong fisherman, his knowledge of rivers, fish, and fish habitat is an invaluable asset and a continual instrument utilized within his engineering toolbox. Jeff is currently a licensed professional engineer in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

When not on the river for work Jeff can be found in the mountains fishing and bowhunting, but more often than not he is spending time with his family camping or at the park playing on the jungle gym.
